Death Star Wall Panel Lights: Add A Little Light To Your Dark Side

With over 17 years of writing experience, Jonathan has had a passion for all things tech-related, ever since watching Inspector Gadget as a child. He's disassembled countless appliances and managed to put a few back together, and one still works. When not writing, he can often be found playing video games or accidentally hurting himself in the garage.

Half-scale replicas of the lighting panels seen aboard the Death Star, these Star Wars Death Star Wall Panel Lights will be available this August from Entertainment Earth and Paladone. If your house isn’t covered in them by September, can you even call yourself a Star Wars fan? Of course, you can call yourself whatever you want. Just don’t call yourself Jar Jar, or people will poke fun at you.

Each $150 panel measures approximately 10″ wide, 49″ tall, and about 1″ in depth. The lights can either emit a static white or red, change color between the two, or react to music. Obviously, if you don’t have the lights respond to John Williams’s Star Wars score, you’re doing it all wrong.

Do I wish the light panels were full-scale replicas of the ones seen in the movies instead of half-scale? Yes. I also wish they were affordable enough to line my hallway with them. Granted, I only have about 40″ of hallway, but I’d still be looking at $1,200 to cover both sides, and $2,400 to stack them so they go from floor to ceiling. I… don’t have that kind of money. I can’t even afford seedy Mos Eisley Cantina lighting.
