Eating While Off Grid: 14 Delicious Camping Meals Campers Swear By

Whether you’re staying in a five-star lodge and picking at buffets or camping in the woods and eating campfire meals, food is always one of the most anticipated events when you’re on vacation.

These campfire meals will keep the crew happy and satisfied.

Remove the husk and cook the corn directly on the grill. Although you might think the corn needs to be soaked or steamed first, many campers say it tastes better not to.

2. Cup of Ramen

A cup of ramen is easy, tasty, and filling (for some). Pour boiling water into your cup of dry noodles, let it sit for a few minutes, and enjoy a warm noodle meal or snack.

There’s nothing better than a hearty pasta dish enjoyed while you’re enjoying nature. Add your pasta to boiling water, let it cook, pour out the water, and add a spaghetti sauce (either pre-cooked or bought from a store). Some campers even add pre-cooked meatballs to their sauce for a heartier meal.

There’s nothing more comforting than chicken and vegetables. Keep pre-seasoned chicken breasts in vacuum-sealed bags until you’re ready to cook them. Pre-chop and season vegetables and potatoes and wrap them in tinfoil. Throw everything on the grill or campfire until it is cooked.

Cook bell peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini seasoned with cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a cast-iron pot. Add all the ingredients to a tortilla with beans, salsa, and guacamole, and toast the burrito in the pan. It may not be absolutely necessary to grill it all, but it elevates the flavor.

13. Cooked Bananas

One delicious dessert or sweet breakfast idea is to place a peeled banana on a piece of tinfoil and sprinkle chocolate chips, sliced strawberries, raspberries, shredded coconut, and chopped walnuts over it. Place another piece of foil over the banana and seal the edges. Cook it for 15 minutes while the fruit softens and the chocolate melts.

15. French Toast
