Some dogs have their own YouTube channels these days and delight viewers with their antics. These funny woofers often have millions of followers.

I’ve been lucky to spend quality time with dogs for most of my life. I was a dog groomer for six years, so I got to know the playful, funny side of many different dog breeds. They’re all fun, from squishy, talkative pugs to fluff-ball Pomeranians, goofy boxer dogs, and Irish wolfhounds.

We’re sharing 17 of the funniest dog breeds we guarantee will make you smile.

If you haven’t experienced time with a pug, you are missing out on a treat. This woofer isn’t the prettiest dog with its flat nose, bulging eyes, and piglet-type tail. They make snuffling noises and are vocal with their owners.

However, pugs are natural clowns. They do silly things. If you need a pick-me-up, spend time with one of these cute characters.

French Bulldogs are born funny. It’s in their genetic makeup. They’re natural showoffs, and they love making people laugh. I’m sure the cute French Bulldog spends every moment thinking up ways to get into mischief.

Like pugs, French Bulldogs are lively and chatty snufflers, which only adds to their comedic charm.

I walk a Pomeranian named Teddy a couple of times a week. He’s a bundle of energy with an enormous personality. Poms don’t realize how small they are. They strut with attitude and would argue with a bull without a qualm.

Pomeranians are highly vocal, funny, and playful. If you work from home, don’t expect to get any work done if you have a Pomeranian.

4. Dachshund — Small, Cheeky, and A Sense of Humor

Dachshunds are comical characters. Their long bodies and short legs aren’t the best attributes, but they make the most of their physical limitations by developing larger-than-life characters.

Dachshunds are characterful and determined and will keep you amused for hours. They’ll burrow into your blankets and waddle after you wherever you go.

5. Irish Wolfhound — The Big Guy Who Loves To Have Fun

Irish Wolfhounds are enormous but have a delightful sense of humor. Despite their size, wolfhounds are gentle, affectionate, and love to amuse their owners. As growing puppies, they are gangly and awkward and don’t realize their size.

The most comical moments are when an Irish Wolfhound tries to play with a new pal. With their long legs, most of their doggy pals can walk underneath them.

The Shih Tzu is sassy, opinionated, and always convinced they’re right. Still, they’re hilarious when they do noisy zoomies around the house, with their silky, flowing coats whipping around them.

I don’t know why we don’t see many Corgis today. They’re real characters and have lively personalities. They’re an unusual breed physically, with short, stubby legs, fluffy coats, and chunky bodies. Their build makes their backsides wiggle when they walk.

Corgis are fun playmates. They love zoomies and playfully bouncing when they want a game.

I lived with a Doberman for 12 years, and it was nonstop fun. These characterful dogs remind me of Pluto, the cartoon character. Although known for their guarding abilities, the Doberman has a hysterical sense of humor.

The Basset hound’s physical characteristics make life a bit challenging for this gentle dog. With exceptionally long, floppy ears and jowls, they’re waddling, drooling comedians. Their bulky body seems like a tabletop on the short, chunky legs.

Nobody told this pocket rocket it was a small dog weighing under 10 pounds. The Brussels Griffin has the heart of a lion, and with its funny looks, this scruffy-looking, quirky breed knows how to make people smile.

The Brussels Griffon’s underbite makes its expression comical. They thrive on companionship and adore making their owners laugh.

Not everybody gets to see this little dog’s playful side. Chihuahuas reserve their attention for one person or their family. This naturally funny dog is reserved with strangers.

Chihuahuas are energetic and love playing games. Often seen as “handbag dogs”, they’re much more than that. Despite being tiny, they have big personalities and an ear-splitting bark when they want attention.
