Serious Star Wars fans might like this custom Darth Vader Wii that’s currently up for for sale over on eBay. But is it really worth the $15,000 Buy it Now price the seller is asking?

Star Wars Wii

The Star Wars Wii features a black finish and dramatic red LED illumination, befitting of the Dark Side of the Force. The console also includes a pair of black Wii-mote and Nunchuk controllers and a black sensor bar to complete the look. It’s hard to tell from the photos and the listing how the console was embellished (not sure if it’s paint or vinyl decals), but for $15k, I’d hope it was hand detailed.

The seller of this custom Wii claims that it’s one of just four that were ever created. According to the listing, the console was used by to promote LucasArts’ upcoming Star Wars game, The Force Unleashed. I’m a little skeptical about the auction, if only for the fact that the seller doesn’t show the other side and back of the console, and called the game “Unleash the Force”.

Caveat Emptor, young Jedi.

If you’re going to post a story about something that appears on ebay you NEED to post a link.

The link is right there in the article. Click the word “eBay” and you’ll get there.

The real wiimotes are quite different……x and y? I remember some early stuff for the wii showing x and y instead of 1 and 2, but you can also see that the power button is wrong and also the nintendo logo, not to mention no + or -…..speaker?

The auction is over, seemed to be fake.

engadget reported this, and later came back and reported that it is, in fact, a hoax.

Yes, it seems that this was all a big fake, as I suspected.
