Ctrl-Alt-Del Key Cups, Not Key Caps
September 27th, 2008
You won’t be able to type very fast on these keyboard-inspired ceramic cups, but you will be able to enjoy your favorite beverage in them.

Created by Taiwan’s MOD Design, Reset Cups are larger-than-life versions of the “Ctrl-Alt-Del” keys, typically used to reboot or login to your Windows PC. Each set of three key cups ship with a matching circuit-board embossed tray (which sort of reminds me of TRON for some reason). MOD will be making them in both a white-on-black and black-on-white version, so you can match them with the color of your keyboard.
Other than the fact that MOD showed off the Reset Cups at the recent Maison + Objet design show in Paris, there’s no further information on when or where you’ll be able to buy these yet. I guess for now, you’ll have to settle for pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys on your PC over and over agin.

Wow those are awesome!
I am seriously excited about these, what a genious idea. Fingers and toes crossed that they come out as I have plenty of friends who would bite my arm off for these geeky gifts!
This post has stuck in my mind as a cool gift to give a geeky tea-loving friend; I’ve had it bookmarked for over a couple of years now… every so often, I’d check around to see if these exist.
Yesterday, I found them (and ordered them for a friend) on Amazon under “Ctrl-Alt-Del CUP SET” [ http://amzn.com/B005ENAJIQ -- I have no affiliation with the seller other than now being a customer] … I just noticed, though, the ones I ordered are plastic, not ceramic.
Thanks for this posting, Technabob for sharing this oh-so-long-ago!
