Waterproof TheQ Camera: The 3G Connected Point-and-Shoot

by Hazel Chua

Today’s smartphones often come with cameras that as good as digital cameras. In fact, some phone’s shooters produce images that are even better in quality than those shot with point-and-shoots. But if you’d rather have a separate camera for your pictures but aren’t willing to give up on the social factor of it all, then here’s one to consider: TheQ camera.

TheQ camera almost looks like a toy, with all it’s bright and vibrant colors. It’s more than a decent shooter but it’s being marketed as a truly social camera, since it comes with built-in 3G connectivity. That means you can basically share the shots that you’ve taken directly from the camera, just as you would with your smartphone. As an added bonus, TheQ is waterproof to 3 meters (~10 feet) so you can snap some underwater pics with it too. If you’re keen on filters, then you can edit your images as you please by accessing TheQ Lab online.

Again, it’s a camera that you can use when you don’t want to use your smartphone. With it’s added features, it should do fine for all your social media needs – but that’s about it.

TheQ camera retails for £149.99 (~ $256 USD) and is available for pre-order online. They’ll be shipping out this August.
