15 Places Aliens Should Land When They Visit Earth

Have you ever wondered what aliens would think of Earth? Would it live up to their ideas of what humans and our planet can offer them? On the off chance that aliens take a trip to our third rock from the Sun—assuming they haven’t done so already—there are many landmarks they should stop by on their way through, just so they get a better idea of what our world has to offer.

1. Devil’s Tower, Wyoming

In the northeastern corner of Wyoming, an 867-foot-tall rock face sits among the quiet plans of Black Hills. Its distinctive and striking parallel cracks in the rock formation can be seen from miles away. This natural structure is sacred among the indigenous Northern Plains Native Americans and might be the perfect place for aliens to land.

2. Roswell, New Mexico

If you believe extraterrestrials did land in Roswell before, a stop in Roswell might mean a return visit for some aliens. Aliens could even stop by the International UFO Museum and the Research Center on Main Street and relive that crash landing back in 1947.

3. Teotihuacan, Mexico

Teotihuacan was once the sixth-largest city on the planet and one of the first hubs for what we now know as South American cultures. Teotihuacan hosts many significant structures of the ancient Mesoamerican world. Aliens may feel right at home among the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, as some theories believe aliens may have helped build some of these ancient structures.

4. Disneyland, California

You can’t possibly plan a trip to Earth without going to Disneyland. Every alien out there needs to try a turkey leg and take a photo with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Plus, the It’s A Small World ride is a must-see attraction that is quintessentially Disneyland.

5. The White House, Washington, D.C.

Politics aside, aliens would probably get a kick out of parking their spaceship on the North Lawn for all of Washington, D.C., to look at. While in D.C., they could also take in many of our historical monuments for any fans of American history.

6. Mecca, Saudi Arabia

Mecca may be the most influential and holiest city to the largest group of people on Earth. The Kaaba, a large black stone structure in the center of the mosque, represents the Muslim culture, religion, and people. It also has a flat surface, which means aliens would have no problem landing on it to meet with Muslims on Earth.

7. Bermuda Triangle, Atlantic Ocean

With the unexplainable activity already reported in the Bermuda Triangle, why not throw in an alien landing? Sure, if they’ve kept up with the news, they’ll know airships typically don’t make it through the Devil’s Triangle, but their alien technology can most likely handle whatever strange goings-on is happening there.

8. San Diego Comic Con, San Diego

The aliens should coordinate with their travel agent to book their trip during summer (usually in late July) to come face-to-face with some of Earth’s most dedicated pop culture fans, who will welcome them with open arms. Maybe Comic Con goers will think they’re just really good at cosplaying.

9. Antarctica

If aliens are looking for isolation, Antarctica is a great choice. Yes, the point of traveling to Earth may be to learn about humankind and find ways to relate to one another, but humans can get tiresome fast. Besides a handful of research stations across the continent, Antarctica is mostly up for grabs.

10. Cape Canaveral, Florida

What better place for aliens to land than Earth’s designated facility for space travel? During their visit to Cape Canaveral, they can swap space stories with fellow astronauts and check out the latest technology engineers and scientists are developing. Plus, they might need to fill up on gas at some point.

11. The Vatican, Vatican City, Italy

If aliens want to know what it’s like to command an audience and lead a group of people, there’s no better place than The Vatican. Technically, it’s its own independent country and city-state, making it truly unique. While they’re there, they may get to take turns riding in the Pope Mobile if they’re convincing enough.

12. Black Rock Desert, Nevada

The dry flatlands of the Black Rock Desert may be reminiscent of life on other planets. The dry air, sprawling land, and cracked topography are a no-brainer for aliens looking to set up shop somewhere on Earth. Every summer, they’ll get a front-row seat of one of Earth’s most existential experiences—Burning Man.

13. Valley of the Kings, Egypt

The burial ground of Egyptian pharaohs can provide aliens with a peak into Earth’s ancient civilizations. The pyramids alone are a testament to what humans are capable of. A tour of the Valley of the Kings may also reveal, through imagery and structural design, that other aliens may have also visited Egypt centuries ago.

14. Central Park, New York

Aliens may have heard of New York City and are dying for a slice of New York pizza. With limited street parking in the city, the obvious choice to land their alien spacecraft is in Central Park. This will put them within walking distance of Broadway and Times Square, and they can even take a trip to the Statue of Liberty.

15. Potala Palace, Tibet

As the provincial capital of Tibet, aliens can learn a thing or two about humankind at Potala Palace. Meeting Buddhist teachers would be a fantastic way for the aliens to learn a healthy philosophy from Earth.

Never judge a book by its cover. You can say the same about movies.

Some of our favorite films are the ones we went into with no expectations. Despite this, they blew us away from start to finish.
