We broke the story about the Atari Arcade Duo Joystick last month. This compact joystick lets you play classic Atari arcade games on your iPad and iPad 2. Well, now you can purchase one for $59.99(USD) and for that price you also get a free copy of Missile Command. The device is currently compatible with 100 classic arcade games, with more in the works.

The Atari Arcade Duo iPad Joystick acts like a dock for your tablet, giving you an arcade stick controller and four buttons so you can play games just like you did at the arcade all those years ago. Just connect your iPad to the Atari Arcade, download Atari’s Greatest Hits app for Duo (free) and get playing. We’ve learned recently that unlike the iCade, the Arcade Duo connects via the 30-pin dock connector, which means faster response time and less battery drain than the iCade’s Bluetooth connection. On the other hand, that means you’re looking at portrait mode only.

If you love classic arcade or Atari 2600 games and own an iPad (and don’t own an iCade), you must check this out. It is available directly from Discovery Bay Games and Target today and in Apple Stores and Toys R Us starting in November.
