LEGO Lord of the Rings Pinball Machine: J.R.R. Tilt-Kien

 |  |  |  January 24, 2018

Much to the delight of fans, LEGO has been selling some nice big sets for a while now, so that nerds with disposable income can build some epic models. That said, I hold out the tiniest bit of hope that LEGO will turn Vladimir van Hoek’s full-size working Lord of the Rings pinball machine into a massive set we can buy. I doubt it will happen, but I want this so badly.

It features locales, and scenes from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, along with minifigs of some of the characters sprinkled throughout. Gollum is here, orcs guard Mount Doom, even Smaug is lurking about. While we don’t know how many pieces are in this amazing build, it is a stunning work of art. From the video, it looks like it plays pretty smoothly too. The scoreboard doesn’t do anything, but it looks like everything else works. I totally get that. It would be a tough task to wire this thing up to keep score. I don’t care about a high score anyway, I just love the game.

I would love to have this one in my home. Vladimir van Hoek, you win the LEGO pinball award. Who will rise up to dethrone him? I can’t wait to see.
