onestation pocket emulators: classic games, with a catch

These little mini console systems from China can emulate a variety of classic 8-bit and 16-bit console games. But I’m not really sure you’ll want one after you read this.

On the plus side, these OneStation pocket game emulators are super cheap, with prices around $30 to $40. The mini-consoles have 320 x 240 resolution color LCD screens and fit in the palm of your hand.
However, the game cartridges look really sketchy. And I mean really, REALLY sketchy. For some reason I don’t think the bad color copy labels and wonderfully butchered game titles like Hally Poter Goblet of Fire, Beanty and the Beast, Tom and Jirry, Ninja Tutles and Marblr Madness were sanctioned by the original game publishers. Most games are found in suspicious packages that come loaded with tons of games on a single $5 or $6 cartridge. Heck, this one model comes complete with 99 games for just under $39.
If you’re willing to take the risk on these questionable games, you can find a variety of OneStation consoles and games and accessories over on DealExtreme.

sounds sketchy to me.
If you’ve always love playing classic ROM games, you might want to consider taking a look at the OneStation mini console. Design is clearly not a strong feature …
What do you expect for $40 bucks from China. I mean, really? This is MORE then what you’ll get from “Do it yourself” Roms, (and cheaper). So really, it’s not as bad as all that.
Other online store have them for sale, and I’m going to pick-up a couple for Christmas. I’m sure the OneStation will fall apart inside of 6 months — but it will be good for a laugh.
I remember bought one that looks like a Nintendo64 controller but needed to be plugged on the TV through RCA. Has battery slots and AC adaptor. Now we have a lot of pocket mp4 players with SD memory expansion that can play Nes Roms for about $40
