LED Tube Lamp Offers Colorful, Tubular Light

This is definitely one of the more unusual lamps I’ve seen in a while. The tube-shaped lighting fixture is loaded up with colorful LEDs, and can be adjusted to almost an infinite variety of hues to suit your mood.

The handmade accent lamp was created by Joe Federer of Kaanjo. Light is provided by a set of multi-color LEDs concealed inside a frosted acrylic tube. The base of the lamp is made from a solid block of maple, with three sliders sticking out of the top. These provide independent control of the red, green and blue tones of LEDs, letting you mix the light to a color and brightness of your liking. Crank it up all the way, and you’ll get a nice white light.

Each one is handmade to order, and you can specify that your lamp be made out of different types of wood, or with different heights for the acrylic light tube. The LED tube lamp is available over on Kaanjo’s Etsy shop for $225 (USD).

WTF! $225 for something that looks like it was the predecessor to the lava lamp and I can get one of those for $20.
