IPad + Velcro = Pure Genius

by

What happens when you outfit your shiny new iPad with a couple of strips of extra-wide Velcro? You turn Apple’s portable tablet into a wall-mountable hands-free display, that’s what.

With strategically-placed strips of the toothy stuff, Jesse Rosten demonstrates a variety of nifty places you can stick your iPad once it’s been outfitted with Velcro. Check out Jesse’s video below to see some of his ideas.

It’s one of those “duh, why didn’t I think of that?” moments that I just love to see. Although I don’t know if I’d trust Velcro to hold it in place on a motorcyle like Jesse showed.

Thats SOOO stupid. They think that display of the ipad will works fine forever. But its LED, so it will die for a year if you will use it as in video.

    Ipad is not forever.

    • technabob says:

Why do you say that. There’s no evidence that anything in this video would shorten the life of the LED backlight in the iPad.

      • Чертила Тёрнер says:

Cause if backlight will work 24 hours a day, it will be dead soon. And battery will be dead too.

        • technabob says:

Who said to leave it on 24 hours a day? Besides, an LED backlight should last about 50,000+ hours, which would be about 6 straight years without being powered off (and the iPad goes into an auto power-save mode if not touched).

Well. The idea with car mount is pretty sick,… considering AIRBAGS!

Although i would like to see person killed by iPad(!)

On http://www.hedgie.net you can found more professional solution than Velcro strip, to mount the iPad on the Wall, Glass, Tiles… Bunk Bed :)
