Tardis Goes Up for Auction, Probably Because It Doesn’T Work Anymore

June 20th, 2010 by: Lambert Varias

Are you a Dr. Who fan who also happens to have a lot of money? Well then this is your lucky day. Actually if you ask me everyday is a lucky day for you, since you have a lot of money and there’s a brand new season of Dr. Who. But today you’re extra lucky – Bonhams will be auctioning off the Tardis prop that was used by the Ninth Doctor in the 2005 season.

According to the lot’s details, the 10 ft. tall phone booth/time machine/house, is “a painted rasped wood panel and glass construction”. The “Police Box” signs are removable, and it comes with roof lamps and additional interior lighting. No mention is made about its time-traveling capabilities though, so I’m guessing they’ve been disabled due to liability concerns.

The auction will take place on June 23, 2010; the prop is estimated to fetch between £8,000 to £12,000 (approx. $12,000 to $18,000 USD). Check out Bonhams’ website for more details.
