Original TRON was in 3D Too (TRON View-Master)

Now that you’ve seen TRON:Legacy in 3D, you probably wondered what the original might have looked like in 3D. Well, it turns out there was a way to experience the TRON in 3D, all the way back in 1982…

The guys over at Neato Coolville dug up these images from an old TRON 3D stereoscopic View-Master disc. The 3-disc set disc had 21 images from the original movie, including shots from inside the inside of the computer world, and images of Sark, CLU, Flynn and even the end of the MCP. Check out a few example retro shots in the gallery below:

Head on over to Neato Coolville for the complete set of hi-res images. It’s too bad that they didn’t post both left and right eye images so we could build our own stereoscopes to view them with.

    Hi, I have the Tron view-master set in its original box. Include the view-master viewer and three reels .
