Yamaha Creates Motorcycle Riding Robot

by Shane McGlaun

The only thing worse than the thought of a robot like Hector from Saturn 3 lumbering down the hall after me is the thought of Hector riding a motorcycle at 200 mph coming after me. To help fulfill my nightmares, Yamaha has created a humanoid robot that can ride a Motorcycle.

Right now, Motobot is in learning mode, so it has those training wheels you see to keep it from turning over. Eventually Yamaha thinks that the ‘bot will be good enough to streak around a race track as fast human master Moto GP racers.

Yamaha hopes to turn the stuff it learns making this robot ride blazingly fast into new tech to make riders safer and to give them more support in everyday cruising. I hope they make an all-robot Moto GP race team.

We should have Christian Bale on standby, I’m pretty sure this is how the MotoTerminators are born.
