Rock Band Price and Release Date

Rock Band Price and Release Date
It looks like the full version of the highly-anticipated interactive music game Rock Band now has a price and release date. I was over on Amazon earlier today and came across this product listing: Listing a November 20th release date, the $199 “Rock Band Collection” for the Xbox 360 and PS3 looks like it’s a complete set that includes the game and all of the instruments.

NES Controller Mouse Mod

NES Controller Mouse Mod
It seems like just about once a week, I come across somebody who’s comes up with a clever new use for a classic Nintendo Entertainment System gamepad. This time, an industrious hacker has taken the guts of an optical mouse and slapped them inside the NES controller.

Classic Apple Moment: Newton Handwriting Recognition

Classic Apple Moment: Newton Handwriting Recognition
Here’s a fun little retro vid clip I came across earlier today. The 9-second clip from an old Simpsons episode is short, sweet, and really funny. With all the recent iPhone buzz, it’s kind of fun to look back at Apple’s earlier, less than successful entry into the handheld market.

Wii Blaster Shotgun Appears

Wii Blaster Shotgun Appears
It amazes me how many shooter accessories are starting to surface for the Nintendo Wii, despite the lack of games that you can actually use them with. However, manufacturers continue to crank them out, and this is one of my favorites so far.

Here’s another strange gadget out of Japan. This helps you keep track of when trains are coming to your nearby station. In order to keep you on schedule, Yumekobo’s Yamanote Alarm Clock gives you a visual indication of the train schedule on its clock face.

Super Mario Subwoofer Paint Job

Super Mario Subwoofer Paint Job
I really dig the great job that Nintendo enthusiast Michael Karpinski did with his new subwoofer. He’s carefully painted it to match the classic “question mark” brick from the Super Mario game series. Looks like that little stuffed Yoshi won’t be long for the world when Michael cranks up his next big bass extravaganza.

Can Speakers be Angelic?

Can Speakers be Angelic?
Fresh off the shelves from Hong Kong’s Brando come these new multimedia speakers with a strange name. They may be calling these “Angel Speakers,” but I actually think they look more like twirling ballerinas (or Whirling Dervishes for that matter.) Regardless, they’re pretty cool looking, and make add a dramatic splash of color to any desktop.
