Superman’S Fortress of Solitude Found in Mexico?

 |  |  |  |  |  October 15, 2010

I’ve always been mesmerized by the crystalline structures of Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, especially in the original movie. It looked amazing, and now I’m amazed to find out that there is actually something that looks like it in the real world.

Check out the amazing Cueva de los Cristales (Cave of Crystals) in Naica, Mexico. Some of the crystal beams in this cave are 36 feet long! In the clip below, you’ll see Professor Iain Stewart exploring these caves.

While it’s probably not the perfect lair for a today’s edgier superheroes, Superman would probably feel right at home.
