Who would imagine that something as basic and ordinary as a razor might get re-imagined and re-designed into something more like a sculpture?
That’s what designer Penghao Shan did with the Möbius Shaver. The design is still ergonomic, although I can’t really tell with all the bends and extra handles here and there. What I can’t deny though, is how much better it looks and how stable it seems to be with its new design.
It’s clear from the name where Shan got the inspiration for the shaver: the Möbius strip, which is defined as “a surface with only one side and only one boundary component.”
It looks like Shan did a good job with sticking to that definition, because there are few sides and boundaries I can tell apart with the shaver.
