I’ve seen some strange gadgets out of Japan over the years, and the latest oddity is the Sharp RoBoHoN. It’s a robot that has a phone built in. It has the ability to make calls and check email over a LTE/3G connection. It’s the walking mobile phone you never wanted!
It has an integrated camera, and that dot between its eyes is a projector that can throw things like maps and other content onto a desk or wall. Inside the bot is a Snapdragon 400 SoC running at 1.2GHz. There is no mention of a smartphone OS running behind the scenes, but it does offer Siri-like voice recognition features.
It looks like a handful, but Sharp says you can take RoBoHoN with you on the go. I can just see you making a call holding a small robot to your ear. That won’t look weird at all.
