Revell Controll X-Treme VR Racer Lets You See What the Car Sees

 |  |  |  February 3, 2017

I spent many an hour building and choosing model kits growing up and they always seemed to be the Revell brand. I didn’t know that the company made anything other than models, but these days it has a full line of RC vehicles as well. One of their latest cars is the Revell Control X-Treme VR Racer.

The car ships with a camera installed on its roof that sends video to an app that runs on your smartphone, so you can see from the car’s perspective what is going on. The toy also ships with an inexpensive VR headset so you can wear the phone on your face.

Other than the slick point-of-view control system, the car also has headlights that you can turn and off. It can reach speeds up to 25 km/h and is designed to survive crashes with an axle that can be snapped back onto the car. It will launch in September and will sell for 109 euros in Germany. I hope it comes to the US too.
