Innovation and CES used to go hand in hand, but in recent years, most of the tech on display is evolutionary, rather than revolutionary. Kudos to Hyundai and its CRADLE division for showing up at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show with a truly innovative and unusual concept that’s well outside of the boundaries of conventional thinking.

Ubtech is once again trotting out its Walker bipedal robot. Pun intended. But this time out, the previously limbless robot has a pair of arms so that it can grab and pass objects to you, like a proper robot servant.

What is it about people incorporating music into their bathrooms? First, we had the musical instrument bathroom, and now check out this bathroom that has a sink that resembles a DJ’s console. Time to wash up with Sir Suds-A-Lot.

If you’re a new parent and you want a terrifying scene for your home, try something like this Jaws inspired cot. This thing offers up a scene where a shark is eating your baby alive. It looks even more realistic when your baby is crying and just generally looking cranky.

Despite being smack dab in the middle of Chicago, my neighborhood is packed with all manner of woodland creatures. Every time I walk the dog, she wants to chase at least a dozen brown bunny rabbits, a couple of garter snakes, and run up a tree to hunt down a squirrel or three.

I think carbon fiber is one of the coolest materials ever invented. It can be formed into just about any shape, is extremely lightweight, and somehow still very strong. It’s amazing how the physics of weaving fibers together and then fixing them with resin provides such properties.

I live in the city in Chicago, so I never figured I’d see a live chicken wandering around my neighborhood. But it’s something I’ve actually seen on occasion. I’m assuming some hipster is doing urban farming somewhere around here, and a chicken got out of their coop.

There are two kinds of LEGO kits that I have always liked. I go for anything with wheels, like the slick new LEGO Corvette ZR-1, and also anything with wings. The cool part about LEGO aircraft is that you can pretend to fly them, then drop your plane and watch it explode.

One of the coolest things about Blade Runner was its future environment. And in that universe, we saw those cool floating advertising blimps. Sadly, these futuristic airships still haven’t become a reality, so it’s up to us to create them if we want them.

I think I just found my own personal bat-signal, because this awesome Batman serving tray will call me to the table every time. Forget projecting a huge bat signal in the sky. Fill my belly with snacks instead, and I’ll fight crime however you want.

Woodgrain. There was a time when all of our coolest gadgets (and station wagons) were covered in this fake veneer. I for one, think it looks awesome and wish everything from our phones to our computers was still covered in the stuff.

Transformers fans who want a little Bumblebee in their life can get their hands on a Masterpiece Movie Series MPM-7 Bumblebee figure that transforms into a Volkswagen Beetle. The toy looks really cool, and is highly detailed compete with rusty, muddy decoration around the bottom of the car and wheel wells.

These days, we play a lot of retro games on modern consoles, so naturally classic controllers have become popular. You can buy these remade controllers from several third-party manufacturers to provide a more authentic retro gaming experience.

Designer Chris Patty may have won Christmas. This year, his family decided all the gifts they gave each other had to be handmade. He decided to make his dad a fancy jukebox with some classic tunes inside.
