Microsoft today confirmed that it is preparing to release a new Xbox 360 model, the Xbox 360 Pro. The console will hit U.S. and Canadian stores in early August, and will be priced at $349. The new model triples the storage from the current Xbox 360 Premium to a much more usable 60GB, offering plenty of space for downloads from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Well after tons of speculation and back and forth on the topic, Sony has finally relented and says that the $100 price drop on the 60GB PlayStation 3 is only to clear out the remaining inventory on the original model.

Pictures of the 20GB and 60GB models of Sony’s Playstation 3 console have surfaced and we can finally see the differences between the two models. While the 20GB model features a completely black case, the 60GB model features some (IMHO, tacky) chrome accents.
