Piggy Bank Gets a Modern Twist

Piggy Bank Gets a Modern Twist
This concept piggy bank is more like a combination of an ATM and a Tamagotchi. In order to keep it happy, you have to feed it your credit card. No money, and it gets sad. Designed by Wang Chao, Maggie Kuo, and Jordi Parra, the electronic piggy bank concept has an iPhone for its screen that displays the emotions of the piggy bank, while an Arduino detects and manages the money and transmits status back to a computer via Bluetooth, which in turn notifies the iPhone over WiFi.

If Pandas Ran the U.S. Banking System We Wouldn’T be in the Mess We’Re in Today
New from Japan – home of things too cute and strange to ever make it to American soil, comes TakaraTomy’s latest dose of sugary electronic goodness, the Panda Bank. I’m not sure what these panda bears are doing with all of my Yen coins, but they appear to be quite happy, and they like to do all sorts of fun tricks on the LCD screen when fed money.
