Eric Gregori‘s new clever robot has a Chumby head and can walk around, albeit slowly. What’s amazing is that there isn’t much computing power in a Chumby, yet Eric still managed to make it walk. This cute little robot uses a 3-axis Freescale accelerometer to balance.

I always knew that a mod like this would pop-up: a cuckoo clock modified to display tweets, complete with a blue cuckoo. Haroon Baig calls his mod the Twitwee Clock. Based on an Arduino controller board, it displays an analog clock as well as tweets on a small touchscreen.

The guys who make the lovable, hackable Chumby have a little something new up their sleeves. Tucked away in an inconspicuous spot in the Marvell booth at the CES show, I managed to snag a spec-sheet for their upcoming tablet computer platform, currently code-named “Sunfury”.
