Fans of the original 1966 Batman TV show with Adam West and Burt Ward will immediately recognize this version of the Batmobile, which recently surfaced on the LEGO Ideas (formerley Cuusoo) crowdsourcing website.
Another nifty proposed LEGO set has hit the crowdsourcing Cuusoo site (soon to be called LEGO Ideas), and yet again I’m hoping this set gets produced. LEGO fan Tris Spencer came up with this set inspired by Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic JAWS.
Crowdsourcing site LEGO Cuusoo has to be choosy about which sets based on licensed material they allow on the site. If they don’t, or can’t get the license for those ideas, they don’t want to get our hopes up by allowing projects based on those characters.
Minifigs are often hated and feared by humans because they are different. Also because it hurts when you step on them. True believer Glen Bricker wants to build a haven for these extraordinary toys with his proposal for an official LEGO X-Men X-Mansion, aka Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
LEGO already has some really cool DC Comics sets, but we can never have too many. This “Assault on Wayne Manor” design by LEGO Cuusoo contributor DarthKy is definitely worthy. Bruce Wayne’s mansion has never looked so amazing (though his Batcave has.)
I think one of the coolest things LEGO has ever done was to launch the LEGO Cuusoo website. This is the place where you can go to vote on DIY LEGO builds that could eventually become kits you can actually go to the store and purchase.
You would think that LEGO would already have made a Goonies set. I mean, the movie is all about kids having an awesome adventure and so is LEGO. Well, you can help make it happen. There is a LEGO Cuusoo project for The Goonies and the possibilities are amazing.
I think you can do pretty much anything with LEGO bricks, but it still amazes me that we are seeing unique creations every day. This LEGO Swiss Army Knife comes from LEGO builder Robiwan_Kenobi. You might recognize that it’s made from LEGO Technic and Bionicle parts, which give it some nice authentic detail.
Cuusoo member Jazlecraz wants LEGO to make a set based on the happiest post-apocalyptic cartoon ever made: Adventure Time. The set consists of two versions of the Tree Fort, home to lead characters Jake the Dog and Finn the Human Minifigure.
We’ve seen beautiful and grand LEGO Star Wars chess sets before, but Avi Solomon’s LEGO Star Wars micro chess set is unique in its simplicity and portability. With your help – and LEGO’s benevolence – it could become a real product.
The rogue-like space sim FTL: Faster Than Light is a game that may not have existed if not for Kickstarter and the backers that funded its developer Subset Games. How appropriate – and perilous – is it that the fate of its merchandise should also be decided by the support of the masses?
Despite numerous unofficial builds, fans have been waiting for an honest to god authentic Back to the Future LEGO set for years. And now it looks like we will get our wish thanks to LEGO crowdsourcing site Cuusoo.
There are already a number of ways to add lighting to LEGO kits, but none of them are particularly elegant, and the ones I’m aware of require wires and a large battery pack to light up your LEGO creations.
