When I was growing up, I must have listened to my Return of the Jedi album hundreds of times. And if I had dared to paint all over it my dad would have been pissed. Now that I have seen this awesome painted record and am no longer a child, (okay, that is debatable) I might just paint on mine too.
I always wondered what it must have been like for Han Solo when he was frozen in that block of carbonite by Jabba the Hutt. We know that he was cold and blind when he came out of it, but did he dream when inside of it?
I was so busy looking at his awesome helmet, blaster rifle and jet pack, I have no recollection what Boba Fett was wearing on his feet. While I’m guessing he donned some sort of military boots, I’m pretty certain they didn’t look like this.
You would be forgiven for thinking that the following video is George Lucas’ latest attempt to re-edit Empire Strikes Back, but it’s not. Lucas could never create something so cute. His idea of cute is Jar-Jar and little annoying Anakin.
The Star Wars movies would have been a whole different deal if all they had was a Gingerbread budget. Here is a glimpse of what it might have looked like. Can you imagine tasty gingerbread AT-ATs walking across a field of sugar as a young Luke Skyginger takes it down?
Jay Hoff is a teacher from Florida, and he recently combined his love of LEGOs and Star Wars in a monstrous 30,000-brick wonder. He chose to recreate the Death Star’s landing bay, which is impossible to forget because that’s where the Emperor landed and was met with his honor guard.
Looking for a place to put your collection of Star Wars books? While you could grab some of those trash compactor bookends, you might want to put a set of these Jabba’s Palace bookends on another shelf.
It’s always been about Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for me. No matter what people say, I think it’s the most important film of the Star Wars saga. Even though I have to agree that Revenge of the Sith wasn’t all that bad, it was nowhere near as good as Empire, IMHO That being said, check out this neato LEGO Star Wars chess set, right out of Empire.
Pat Langton put together these nifty retro Star Wars posters. The only beef that I have is that I thought that Star Wars was already retro… Still, it’s always cool to see a re-interpretation of my favorite trilogy, by this I mean the original trilogy, not the new one!
The guys at FluffyLogic tipped me off to a new iPhone game they’ve been working on for THQ and LucasArts.
The Battle for Hoth is a strategy game which takes the basic mechanics of a Tower Defense game and applies it to the Empire Strikes Back universe.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Empire Strikes Back, all sorts of cool Star Wars themed merch is starting to find its way to market this year. One of my favorites so far? This soft and fluffy rug that looks like a Wampa.
If you love Star Wars as much as I do, then you’ll be pretty psyched to hear that you can now star in your own version of Star Wars! How cool is that?
All you need to do is go here and follow the instructions.
This bar of soap is perfect for any Star Wars fan. Han Solo is more than a scoundrel, since he’s been frozen in carbonite and ready to lather up to clean your various bits.
From the photos that I’ve seen, this is a pretty good likeness of Solo frozen in carbonite from Empire Strikes Back.
You know how I like to celebrate my favorite moments in movie history? By eating them. Yep, I figure there’s no more fitting tribute to the greatest harpooning in all of sci-fi than a great sugary rendition of a moment’s triumph over the Empire.
