This just in: iFixit has torn down Apple’s new iPad and found lots of new things inside. Sounds like a stock headline, except Apple really is calling the new iPad “the new iPad” – or is it just “iPad?” Semantics aside, iFixit has verified all of the new specs that Apple has announced plus a couple of tidbits that you might be interested in.

After months of anticipation and speculation, Apple today revealed their 3rd generation iPad, simply called the “new iPad” – previously thought to be called the iPad 3 or iPad HD.
The rumor mills have been flying that the iPad 3 is in the works and set for a reveal sometime this March. Now, some pictures and video have surfaced of a new aluminum case that looks suspiciously Apple-like, but definitely different from the iPad 2.
