Breaking Bad is a show that I really wanted to like, but just never could get into. I have the entire series on Netflix; I never watched a single episode when it was on the air.

A few years back, my neighborhood was a dangerous place. There were roving bands of 8-year-olds armed with all the latest dart-firing weapons. They had nothing better to do than lie in wait in the bushes laughing with childish glee as they waited for you to walk out your door so they could shoot you in the balls.

Clay animation is a very cool method of making movies and TV shows. The thing that always impresses me about the technique is the time it takes to film a sequence since each movement of the characters requires a new character to be made or at least changes to characters.

If you are a chess player, you may like to play with a set that is more than traditional looking, especially if you are a comic book geek. Entertainment Earth has enough chess pieces to build an entire set using characters from various Marvel and DC comics.

One of the scariest science fiction movies I ever watched was Alien and its spin-offs were scary as well. Those Xenomorphs are creepy and hard to kill. The queen alien was the scariest of them all and if you are a big fan of the movies, you will want this action figure.

I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead and one of my favorite characters is Daryl Dixon. Dixon’s look is best known for three things – his crossbow, his vest, and his chopper. I think a motorcycle is a questionable vehicle to use in a zombie apocalypse since they could just eat you as you roll by, but I don’t judge.

I guess I have always been a little overprotective of the innocence of my kids. They might not recognize certain sexual references in some things that adults get, but I still don’t want that stuff around them if I can help it.

LEGO is a big deal around here; we love all the geeky sets and dioramas that people get up to with the little plastic bricks. If you are wondering what will be coming in the realm of LEGO next year, check this out.

I always liked Boba Fett growing up even though he was a bad guy when we played with our ’80s Star Wars toys. I even had his Slave I spaceship toy. I really liked him in The Empire Strikes Back, and was mad when he was so easily killed off in Return of the Jedi.

One of my favorite scenes from Pacific Rim is when Gipsy Danger gets into the fight with the Kaiju in the middle of the city and ends up handing out a beat down with a cargo ship picked up out of the harbor.

When they’re at a particular age, kids love to draw. Whether it’s stick figures or colored drawings, the sky’s the limit when it comes to kids’ imaginations. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could give them a present that’s truly their own?

LEGO builder Chris McVeigh has offered up some cool ornament designs in time for decorating your Christmas tree. Among his designs are these tiny arcade machines right out of the ’80s and a cool Christmas train.

I’ve never been a regular viewer of The Simpsons, but I do remember the part of The Simpsons Movie where Homer adopts a pig and has it walking on the ceiling while singing “Spider-pig, Spider-pig… does whatever a Spider-Pig does.”

I have said it before; I was very surprised at how good Pacific Rim was. I think many people were just as impressed, and a second film in the franchise is in the works already. If you are a fan of Pacific Rim, you might want to pick up this 18-inch Gipsy Danger deluxe action figure.

I think we all know coasters are annoying. It really doesn’t matter how close to your drink the coaster is, we still don’t want to use them. If you have a pack of geeks that frequent your home, you might want to stock up on these Building Brick Coaster Sets, that I think might actually get used.
