Just announced by LEGO, Jaws build set #21350 features a diorama of the giant shark attacking Sam Quint’s boat ‘Orca’ while Police Chief Martin Brody and marine biologist Matt Hooper look on in horror. The build set includes 1,497 pieces, and will cost $150 when it’s released on August 6th. The completed diorama measures 24″ x 8″ x 12″ and will make a great addition to my bookshelf. It’s all just toys and no books, anyway.
The shark, known by Jaws fans as Bruce after the animatronic used in the movie, can also be displayed on a pedestal if you prefer more of a static scene. When on display in diorama form though there’s a special printed brick front and center with Martin Brody’s famous quote, “You’re going to need a bigger boat.” I can’t tell you how many times a day I quote that myself, but rest assured it’s far too many, and never in a way that makes any sense.
My wife already informed me she must have this set, even though her birthday just passed. She’s a huge Jaws fan, and we just watched the movie on the 4th of July like we do every year. It’s so good. So good I refuse to wade into the surf any deeper than my knees whenever we go to the beach.
