Transparent iPhone 4 Casemod Looks Great, Doesn’t Make Phone Calls Any Clearer

I’m all for making your gadgets look better, but I draw the line at making something heavier. The previous iPhone 4 mod with the metal back looked good but I would have gone with carbon fiber to make the phone lighter, not heavier.
This mod is definitely classy. The back has been replaced by a clear, see-through casing, allowing you to see the innards of the iPhone. Well, that’s what everyone thought when they first saw it. It turns out that the clear case was obtained by using paint thinner on the actual iPhone 4 back. This removed the paint and made it transparent. Ingenious – and so cool.
Although a clear iPhone might sound cool, there are problems of light leakage with even a white back, so you can just imagine what will happen with a clear back. Users report that with a white back the camera flash can become unusable.
