We have this Mini Australian Shepherd that is my daughter’s dog. That naturally means he is really my dog because I have to take care of him. He is pure, fuzzy evil. His name is Jet because he runs literally everywhere no matter if he can’t stop his full-on doggy sprint before he smashes into something.

Forget buying a Nintendo Switch, the Japanese toy kids want these days are these stuffed plush toys that look like gigantic beetles. Strapya-world has a pair of plush beetle toys with one that looks like a giant stag beetle and another that looks like a rhinoceros beetle.

So far as I can tell, folks in Japan really like cosplay and staying warm. I have seen an endless stream of weird gadgets over the years that focus on keeping people nice and toasty wherever they are.

Japan makes all kinds of weird and wonderful things. This is not the strangest by far, but it is pretty cool. Check out this coffee vending machine that includes a live video feed of the inner workings of the machine.

Japan is doing what Japan does best to give its national volleyball team an edge: using robots. They are using some high-tech training robots to help out. These bizarre-looking ‘bots mimic the opposing team’s defense and are each made up of a pairs of hands and arms attached to a mobile torso.

Remember last summer when some robot builders from America challenged robot builders from Japan? Well the Japanese accepted that challenge, and the robot battle is now scheduled for sometime this August. I’ll be watching this robot beat down for sure, as the two giant mechs go head to head for a battle to the death.

I like yummy breakfasts as much as the next guy, but Japan takes things to a whole ‘nother level. In Japan they don’t just eat pancakes for breakfast, they bathe in breakfast foods too. Yes, there are pancake baths open in Japan right now.

Good ‘ol Elmer Fudd was always out hunting wabbits. I assume he liked to eat wabbit stew or something of the sort. Elmer never caught that wabbit because wabbits are wascally. If Fudd had lived in Japan he could have eaten a rabbit made of pure carbs.

There are some things that can only happen in Japan, and this is one of them. A Korean tourist rented out a replica Mario Kart that you can actually drive on the streets around Tokyo. The catch is that the tourist clearly hasn’t learned how to drive on the road in one.

No worries folks. Japan has everything covered. And I mean everything – even your lollipops. Yes, a company in Japan has created a carrying case for your suckers. Now your lollipops can travel in safety and comfort too!

There is always something bizarre to eat coming out of Japan. Boy, that sounded weird. If you like coffee, Japan may have the next snack for you to drool over. The treat is from Snow Brand Milk and is a spreadable version of the company’s coffee.

So you might think if McDonald’s in Japan was gearing up to offer new candied sweet potato fries they might, I don’t know, use sweet potatoes. That’s not how they roll at the Japanese Golden Arches though.

Japan has weird KitKats with all sorts of flavors we only dream of here in the US. In general, we only get normal and white chocolate, while Japan has all sorts of fruit flavors. To celebrate the KitKat there is a new KitKat Sushi that comes in three flavors.

For the most part I don’t like people. I love the wife and kids even though I want to choke them out every now and again, but the other people in my life I can pretty much live without.

NTTDoCoMo is one of Japan’s largest mobile operators, so they are always on the cutting edge. Their latest offering? Toilet paper for your smartphone. Sure, why not? These special rolls of TP can be found by the toilets of Tokyo’s Narita airport.

I have a feeling that the Gatebox is exactly how Krieger got started with that holographic Japanese girl that follows him around on Archer. We talked a bit about the Gatebox early this year when the oddity first surfaced.
