Credit Card Roulette Machine Decides Who Pays The Bill

With over 17 years of writing experience, Jonathan has had a passion for all things tech-related, ever since watching Inspector Gadget as a child. He's disassembled countless appliances and managed to put a few back together, and one still works. When not writing, he can often be found playing video games or accidentally hurting himself in the garage.

Built by Matty Benedetto of Unnecessary Inventions, the Credit Card Roulette Machine randomly determines who’s paying the entire tab after dinner or drinks (or both). The machine has slots for six credit cards, and pushing its button spins the machine for a random amount of time, eventually stopping with the winning (losing) card raised. That’s fun, provided I can rig it so it never lands on my card.

Credit card roulette is always a risky game. At least for me, since there’s no guarantee there will be enough money in my account to cover a fancy meal or drinks for six people. I take that back. There IS a guarantee—there definitely won’t be. Especially considering the way my friends drink—it’s like they’re immune to alcohol.

Do you like playing credit card roulette or paying your own portion of a bill? I’m a big fan of the latter, especially considering I usually only order an appetizer and bring my own flask. What can I say, I’m frugal.
