Holographic Bluetooth Speaker Can Display Song Lyrics, Play Animations

With over 17 years of writing experience, Jonathan has had a passion for all things tech-related, ever since watching Inspector Gadget as a child. He's disassembled countless appliances and managed to put a few back together, and one still works. When not writing, he can often be found playing video games or accidentally hurting himself in the garage.

The Haloasis A1 is a Bluetooth speaker unlike any other. It features a clear cylindrical design with a 360-degree viewable holographic display that can show song lyrics for karaoke, play animations that respond to music, or display a time/date/weather widget. It sure beats the boombox I had growing up! I’m kidding. That thing was perfect, and I made the world’s best mixed tapes with it.

The A1 features three individual speakers (one on each end of the cylinder and one in the base) and can be controlled via a smartphone app. Its holographic display is created with two rapidly rotating LED bars inside the cylinder, which produce words and images thanks to a persistence of vision illusion. Great, like my eyes weren’t already playing enough tricks on me!

If you’re interested in an A1 (and who wouldn’t be?), they’re available via Kickstarter with a special launch price of $599. That is a lot of money. For reference, I only paid $19 for my Bluetooth speaker, but it is not holographic. I can leave it out in the rain and not lose any sleep over it, though, so it does have that going for it.
