Robotic Chef Autonomously Cooks Schnitzel And Fries

With over 17 years of writing experience, Jonathan has had a passion for all things tech-related, ever since watching Inspector Gadget as a child. He's disassembled countless appliances and managed to put a few back together, and one still works. When not writing, he can often be found playing video games or accidentally hurting himself in the garage.

Utilizing software created by DinoRoboticsStuio, this robotic chef is capable of autonomous cooking. It can cook all on its own thanks to AI-powered object localization and 3D image processing to identify the objects and ingredients around it. The robot follows pre-programmed recipes but can make any changes necessary in real time to adapt to its cooking environment. I want to see it crack an egg.

In the video below, the robot makes SchniPoSa (Scnitzel + Pommes frites + Salad), breading and frying the schnitzel, cutting potatoes into fries and frying them, and cutting up all the raw ingredients for a salad — all without any help from a human! Although a human (and dog!) does help eat the meal at the end of the video. I just wish that human had been me; I’m hungry. Robot, cook me pancakes!

When the robot stops following a cookbook and starts developing its own recipes, we’ll know it’s completed its transformation into a chef. That’s also when I’ll inquire about buying one to have my own personal chef at home. Because right now, my personal chef isn’t that great and regularly burns food and starts kitchen fires. Me — I’m talking about myself.
