What could possibly go together than crocheting and Star Wars? After seeing these awesomely craftsy TIE Fighters, not much else in my opinion. While I don’t usually associate the words “granny squares” with “Empire” or “Dark Side”, somehow it all works perfectly in these crocheted Tie Fighters by Denise of Yummy Pancake.

I’ve always loved toques, but I have shied away from decorative ones. Check out this Bender toque that was crocheted by hand by Cheewawamomma! You have to admit that Bender is one of the most likable robots on TV, given his sunny disposition.

My grandmother was a serious crochet fan. She had one of those bags she took with her everywhere, and if she sat long out came the giant spikes and snick, snick she would be making blankets and hats like the wind.

Those of you who are really into green stuff may hate me for saying this, but the Smart Car is one of the ugliest vehicles on the road. I mean if I had to choose between the Smart Car and an AMC Pacer, it would be hard to decide.

I live in Chicago, so we still have about a bazillion weeks left to winter, and I could definitely use a new scarf to keep warm. Thankfully, I might just have found the one I’m looking for.

While most of you were probably busy this past weekend killing splicers with your drill and protecting Little Sisters, one Bioshock fan out there was doing something a bit more productive. While you were all sitting on your couches upgrading your plasmids, crafter Nerdigurumi (I love that name) got out the yarn and crocheted up this awesome little Big Daddy Bouncer in amigurumi form.

Handmade by EnemyAirship (who also gave us the awesome Racoon Mario rug and Question Mark Block ottoman), these miniature Mario and Koopa Troopa are perfect for anyone with a fondness for the Super Mario Bros.

I always loved the game Berzerk back when it hit arcades all the way back in 1980. But for some reason, it’s one of those few classic games that doesn’t get much love these days (although technabob’s mascot was “borrowed” from the game).

Okay, I’m sure these weren’t actually crafted as a playset, but could you resist posing them in adorable ways? Clearly the artist couldn’t; there’s even a backdrop to simulate a moment from the game! And look at that little goomba, all turned over.

I don’t know about you, but when I’m waking up from a nightmare, I want to be able to clutch my blanket in comfort, not in added terror. Apparently, though, not everyone is like this, or this Silent Hill-themed blanket would not exist.

The world of Katamari Damacy is a strange one, to be sure, but it sure is cute. The Prince and his colorful cousins are each cuter than the others, and though the idea of sticking people and animals to a giant ball and then rolling them around is pretty horrific if you think about it, in Katamari, even this sort of dire torture manages to be adorable.

With winter around the corner, I could use a new scarf. But I’m not sure I’m confident enough in my own masculinity to walk around wearing this crocheted Super Mario Bros. Piranha Plant scarf around my neck.

Some babies are just hipper than others. You can tell by their expensive t-shirts and awesome accessories. It’s not any baby who can rock a cushy Cthulhu play blanket, you know? Craftster FicklePegasus has turned an office joke into a handmade gift fit for only the coolest of babies: a soft and cuddly Cthulhu, complete with tentacular arms of love that can hold toys to engage tykes.

The Tanooki suit was just one of the many charms of Super Mario Bros. 3, but the real thing ain’t got nothing on this amigurumi version. Mario’s never looked so adorable. Just look at that. Totally better than the original.

I know we give Mario, Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Sonic plenty of geek craft love around here, but do you guys remember a little video game called Lemmings? I think I must have spent a million and one hours playing this game, despite the fact the concept really was just a 2-dimensional escort mission on steroids.
