Japan is home to all manner of strange snacks. I can only assume that the Japanese love Kit Kats most of all. After all, they even wrap Kit Kats in gold leaf, and have an entire store dedicated to special Kit Kat flavors.
As far as I’m concerned, this side of a few breakfast items, the only thing at McDonald’s that isn’t gross and crappy tasting are the fries. I’d go so far as to say that McDonald’s has the best fries anywhere.
Japan doesn’t have a strangle hold on weird snacks, Lay’s has some oddly flavored chips here in the U.S. as well. However, Japan does have snack oddities like the gold leaf Kit Kat bar, and now Japanese snackers can get potato chips that taste like dessert.
Japan is home to a number of unusual foods, but one thing I never imagined there’d be a market for was Cheetos that taste like Pepsi. Then again, I once accidentally dipped my movie popcorn into my Diet Coke, and it was delicious.
