Nixon Master Blaster Headphones: Blast Your Ears in Comfort

by Paul Strauss

After a few too many days wearing those dainty little earbuds that ship with most media players these days, it’s easy to forget what a real pair of headphones look and sound like. That’s what Nixon’s Master Blaster headphones are all about.

These beastly ear blasters are designed not only to crank out some serious volume, they look beefy enough to deliver on that promise. Each pair of Master Blasters offers up a spacious set of padded ear cups to provide you with an all-encompassing audio experience. The headphones feature an adjustable ball-socket hinge that should help them fit about any head, big or small. And it’s hard to see from the pics above, but the outer ring of the right ear cup is actually a volume control – which is a nice touch. Word on the street is that they have a solid low end but really shine with the mids and the highs.

They’re available in six color combinations, and are available over at Amazon for about $200 (USD) a pair. Now all they need to do is add a microphone and control switch for my iPhone, and I’ll buy a pair.
