Bulletproof Pocket Square: an Essential Accessory

by Lambert Varias

The MI6 would do well to hire the guys at Sruli Recht, because this classy pocket square is a must-have for stylish spies like 007. Called “The Damned”, the pocket square is proof… Bulletproof.

The Damned is made of “military grade ballistic protective aramid fiber”, made “to protect the hearts of men.” Damn, even the write-up is sexy.

Sruli Recht has this to say to nincompoops who intend to test the pocket square’s bullet-stopping prowess: “If a gun is aimed at you, fired, and the slug hits you, you will be hurt despite the properties of the square; The impact of the projectile itself is likely to fracture your bones bones and bruise you.  According to the specifications of the textile, a ballistic projectile such as a bullet will not pass through seven layers of this material.  We take NO responsibility for those who feel compelled to test the endurance or resistance of the textile in any way.” So just fold it in such a way that there’s seven layers above your chest and you’re good to go. Actually no you’re not; don’t ever believe a word I say.

You can order The Damned at Sruli Recht’s online store for €95 (appx. $136 USD).

This is great… Assuming your attacker has awesome aim. Otherwise, you’re screwed anyway.

Considering that during most reports of gunshot wounds are always “3 inches to the left and you would have been a dead man”, I guess this can account for those times the bullet is right on target.
