The iPod Revolution: How Your Cute Apple Device Changed the Music Business

 |  |  |  |  |  |  |  May 10, 2010

You can either love it or hate it, but there’s no denying that the iPod changed the face of the music industry. Even though you’d rather not think too much about it, especially if you don’t own a Mac, Apple has made an incredible impact on music. This amazing infographic from Online Schools has a lot of cool facts about the iPod Revolution in case you wanted to actually learn something on the internet today.

I’ve owned two iPods since they were released. The first was a 4th gen 40GB that I got in 2004 which I used until 2007 when it broke down. In 2008, I purchased a 6th gen 160GB iPod Classic, the only one which could hold my entire music collection at the time. I still use it daily and I’m always surprised how long it can go without a recharge.

Since I’m a PC user and have a background in IT, I’ve rarely used iTunes but it’s interesting to note that 1-in-4 songs purchased in the US is bought on iTunes.
