Fallout 3 has some of the most depressing scenery and environments I’ve ever seen in a video game, which is why I can appreciate the Badass Wasteland Restoration mod. Not only does it have a badass name – and a badass in the name – it also adds trees, bushes and grass to make post-nuclear holocaust America much easier on the eyes. The air is still probably toxic though.
The mod was made by virtual environmentalists Shiholude, Jeoshua, Whoden and Bumbum. Not sure if those are their real names, but I sure hope so. Especially Bumbum’s. Aside from replacing gray and brown rocks and posts with relaxing greenery, Bumbum and his pixel plant loving friends also added “five new tree models, new groundcover, distant land colors, distant tree visuals (and) plant overgrowth”.
The mod also “cleans up illogical tree placement.” I can’t remember seeing any illogically placed trees with my time in the game, but it’s nice to know that the mod takes care of them anyhow.
You can download the Fallout 3 Badass Restoration Mod at Fileplanet free of charge. With the tall grass this mod adds it will make the Pokémon mod a bit closer to the real thing.
