Siri Ported to iPhone 4!

 |  |  |  October 31, 2011

If you are an iPhone 4 user and the only thing from the new iPhone 4S you are sad to be missing is Siri, check this out. A pair of hackers claims to have made a fully functional port of Siri to the iPhone 4S. The geeks aren’t giving up the goods just yet though.

The pair claims they have been able to get Siri to interface with the Apple servers even though the iPhone 4 is not on the allowed devices list. One of the hackers is Steve Troughton-Smith, and he claims that the trick was “a ton of file system changes.”

Once hacked and modified, Siri is said to work just as well on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G as the 4S. I guess Apple knew the only real compelling feature on the 4S was Siri, so they tried to block it from access by older devices.
