So, let’s say you want to find out when a band is playing a concert near you. You could check band websites constantly, do some Google searches, or you can relax and let Gigbeat (a new Android app) do the work for you.

A new company has developed an app that effectively turns your smartphone into a waiter, barista, basically anyone who takes your orders and processes your stuff. The company is called Pago Mobile, and their app is called Pago, which means “payment” in Spanish.

TechCrunch’s MG Siegler reports that the iPad app is actually hidden in the iPhone app codebase, and has been able to play with the app on an iPad ever since Facebook updated their iPhone app to 3.4.4 yesterday.

Up is a new health and wellness gadget from Jawbone, which uses hardware and software to track your eating and sleeping habits, as well as your movements. It’s the same size as those rubber straps that people wear, and it contains enough sensors to track all of the relevant info.

There really is an app for everything today, including elective body modification. A plastic surgeon named Dr. Jonathan Kaplan has announced that he has launched a new app that will be offered globally called BuildMyBod. The app will run on iOS devices and allows someone thinking about plastic surgery to build their own perfect figure in the virtual world.

I admit that I have trouble seeing my cell phone in the mornings when I wake up, but this dock seems to do the trick, with nice big numbers that are easy to see from afar, especially when you’re not wearing any glasses.

This will certainly cement the “an app for everything” claim. Apparently, a pair of iPhones have been certified for space flight and are set to take off on STS-135, the final Space Shuttle mission, tentatively scheduled for July 8th.
