Look at this awesome creature. This real hedgehog is escaping some sort of explosion, and he’s in legit “no f*cks given” mode. He isn’t even running. He didn’t even blink. Something’s blowing up… whatevs. Cool hedgehogs don’t look at explosions I suspect maybe the hedgehog blew up something back there.

At some point or another we have all imagined what the explosion inside of a combustion engine looks like. That’s because engines are fascinating, and you unfortunately can’t see inside of them while this is happening.

Late last week, I talked a bit about SpaceX and why it was trying to land the first stage of its rocket on a drone ship in the Pacific. SpaceX planned the third attempt at landing the rocket over the weekend, but things didn’t go to plan.

The Backyard Scientist’s propane rifle looks super cool when it fires. The spark and the propane going through the tubing create a neat effect, making it look like a sci-fi rifle. It is mesmerizing. It is pretty easy to build, though it’s always dangerous to play with propane and fire.

Generally speaking, it’s not a good idea to put things in the microwave that don’t belong in there. But that doesn’t stop the curious minds of people like us from wanting to see what happens to other stuff when you jostle around its atoms in the microwave.

Growing up, Hack A Day’s Caleb Kraft loved the James Bond movies. But he didn’t idolize 007. Kraft looked up to the guy who provided Bond with high tech and fortuitously plot-relevant gizmos: the Quartermaster, aka Q.

You don’t need huge weapons to make impressive explosions. Take this Pocket Artillery mini cannon for example. It’s tiny and armed only with a BB, but when it shoots a bottle of Corona, the results are impressive.

People all over the world do either crazy stuff or get into stupid messes because of carelessness. One recent incident of stupidity was when this man dropped a firecracker down a manhole in front of his two kids.

I have tried my hand at flying remote control helicopters a few times. Once the copter flew away never to be seen again. I suspect this was a response to seeing how poorly I landed my RC plane.

Man, LEGOs are amazing. I’m always surprised at what hardcore LEGO enthusiasts can create with a few bricks. It definitely makes you want to get those old bricks out from the closet and see what you can do.

While I do see the photographic beauty in these exploding Xbox 360 consoles, just like the Apple products that were shot, I wonder if his is just a colossal waste. Admittedly, it makes a bold statement.

Yep, somebody is gonna get fired over this. Anytime you combine explosives and something that stands 275-feet in the air, you get my attention. If you have never been to see a building get demolished by explosives, you are missing some fun.

The man pictured below is Gay Wilkinson. What on Earth could he be doing? Well, let’s look at what we have here: two anvils, a fuse connected to lots of gunpowder, and a man who knows how to have a good time.

Remember high school Physics? Me neither. But I bet if teachers used Boom Bots to teach us Newton’s Laws of Motion, our classes would have been much more memorable. I’d still forget the lessons though. The game’s mechanics are simple: Here’s a Boom Bot.

Not that this is the first time we’ve heard of a laptop exploding due to defective LI-ION battery, but this is one of the more spectacular examples of devastation we’ve seen. Clearly, leaving your laptop on and unattended has its potential consequences.
