I’ve talked about 72pins before, but their latest cartridge is just too damn good not to share. The NEStalgic shop collaborated with artist Nick Robalik to create a Fallout NES cartridge, which will surely fetch a vault full of bottle caps in the post-nuclear world.

Nothing can compete with this complete NES Bed set, but textile designer Emily’s cushions and pillows come close. She originally made these for her boyfriend as a Valentine’s Day gift but then the citizens of the Internet started throwing money at their screens and demanded that she make more.

Kids love Happy Meals. And why not? You get a burger, some fries and a drink as well as a swell toy to push around on the table while you are eating. Now McDonalds Japan is taking the whole thing to a new level with exclusive Nintendo 3DS content as the freebie.

No matter how many new video game franchises come along, it’s still some of the earliest console games which have the most popular gaming characters of all time. Take, for instance, Mario and Mega Man. Both released nearly 30 years ago (yikes, I feel really old), these iconic gaming characters have grown up alongside those of us who grew up playing video games.

These pieces of minimalist Mario and Link Art are very unique – they depict our favorite Nintendos in a startling fashion by focusing on their torsos. These two characters surely have the most heroic midsections of them all, but I think that Mario’s pot belly may have been treated with a bit of airbrushing in that photo.

Remember that old Megatron Transformer that turns into a gun? Well, LEGO builder Baron von Brunk from New York has outdone that one. His version of the toy has the Decepticon leader Megatron turning into something much more geeky – an NES Zapper gun.

There never seems to be enough time. Whether you are passing the day away working in an office, sweating in a factory, or in Mario’s case: saving the Princess. No, time is not on our side.

I’ve previously featured some pretty ridiculously large NES controllers here on the site, but this one is the new supersize champ, measuring approximately 30 times the size of an original NES gamepad.

While I’ve seen tons of NES casemods over the years, I have to say that it’s sometimes best to keep things simple and elegant, like with this Legend of Zelda tribute NES done up by Ryan Fitzpatrick (aka “Platinumfungi,”) along with the help of pro console painter Jayrod2.

I don’t think you need to punch this Question Block Lamp to get it to cough up its treasure. Which is a shame really. But it’s really well made and looks just like its video game counterpart when lit up.

Nintendo is ringing in the new year with some numbers and some bragging. The company has just announced that they have sold over 4 million units of the Nintendo 3DS console in the US, since it went on sale in March of 2011.

You probably have one or two extra Wii Nunchuk controllers lying about, or better yet, some cheapo knock-off ones that your friends, family, or kids just chucked around too hard and you no longer use. This was why Duncan Murdock decided to use one of those spare controllers to make a remote shutter control for his new DSLR.

Nintendo may be against porting their games onto mobile devices, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t considering an app store of their own for their Wii U console. It would of course be similar to iTunes or the Android Market, but packed with stuff just for your console.

It was just yesterday that we featured a cool portable Gamecube mod which we thought was pretty nifty. But I just stumbled onto another Gamecube handheld which is even cooler. And while making portable Gamecubes is actually quite common in modding circles, the Gamecube Envision is the best portable version of the console I’ve seen yet.

The Nintendo Gamecube is probably my least favorite console ever, but this portable mod improves upon it so much that I actually want to play. With the Sly Cube, you can take your Gamecube action to go since it is now more portable.
