Why do things alone when you can do whatever it is with a friend? Checking out new phones, attending a comic con, picking out costumes for a party… It doesn’t even have to be an activity.

As a kid, I’d always see my grandma rocking one of her grandkids to sleep in her lap on her rocking chair. (Yes, I was one of those grandkids, although obviously I wouldn’t be able to see myself if I’m the one being rocked.) 

It looks like modded rocking chairs are getting more popular this year. First, it was Damien Ludi and Colin Peillex’s Rocking-Knit chair that knitted while you rocked. And now it’s the iRock. If you’re not into knitting but love rocking anyways, then maybe the iRock is more up your alley.

Old folks aren’t the only ones who might want to take up knitting. For years, I’ve wanted to learn because I wanted to wear knitted stuff and be able to tell people that I knitted it myself.

I’m not a huge fan of sardines. Sure, I find myself craving some once in a while, but they’re not my most favorite fish in the world. But sardines seem like it’s the fish of choice for furniture designer Tristan Cochrane. 

There’s a lot of anticipation and preparation needed when there’s a baby on the way, not just for the expecting couple, but for the entire family. When my sister was expecting her first baby (the first in our family of five), my parents wanted to do something extra special.

When I think of rocking chairs, I recall an image of my grandmother sitting in one as she stared out the window of her room. A pretty sad – or rather forlorn memory, I know.
