These days, when you buy most TVs, you get some sort of smart TV functionality built in so you can stream content. But the vast majority of these streaming services require an additional subscription fee, adding to the cost of your broadband connection and the TV itself.

If you’ve ever played the video game Octodad, you know how difficult it can be to perform tasks using tentacles. Sure, a real octopus can open a jar with its spindly legs, but you’re not a real octopus.

Virtual reality headsets are not just great for games. They’re also great for viewing 360º videos, which are the video equivalent of Google Street View. In fact, there’s already a 360º documentary about virtual reality. It remains to be seen whether the technology will be a hit with consumers, but vcemo is betting that it will.

This month Sony unveiled its Xperia Z3 line of mobile devices. To make these devices enticing, Sony promised that the three devices – the Z3, the Z3 Compact phone and the Z3 Tablet Compact – will be the only mobile devices to support PS4 Remote Play, the same system that allows PS Vita to stream games from the PS4.

TiVo’s upcoming DVR is the Iron Throne of couch potatoes. The TiVo Mega comes with a ridiculous 24TB of hot-swappable storage. That’s enough to store 26,000 hours – about 3 years! – of SD videos or about 4,000 hours of HD videos.
