samsung lns5296dThe new Samsung LN-S5296D is a 1080P (1920×1080) resolution 52-inch LCD flat panel HDTV due in stores by September. The set is one of the largest LCD flat panels you can get on the street for less than $5000 USD.

The set boasts a 6000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (that’s very high for LCD, we’ll have to see what the real deal is), over two million pixel resolution, Cold Cathode Fluorescent backlight, and 10-bit processor with 12.8 billion colors. Also features a new optimized game mode and fast 8ms response time for video gaming. The audio system features hidden speakers with SRS TruSurround XT sound.

The set has a good variety of video inputs including 2 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 RF, 1 Composite and 1 RGB/VGA (guess it’s finally time to say farewell to S-Video). A built-in Digital Cable Ready (DCR) tuner with a CableCARD slot rounds out the package.

This looks to be one of the more promising sets coming out this fall.
