The folks at Playstation Magazine (PSM) received an unexpected surprise on Friday when Sony dropped by with a shiny new Playstation 3 for them to play with.

Here’s what they had to say:
You can even see the reflection of Motorstorm in the shiny exterior…. First impressions? The pads lighter than we anticipated and we were pleasantly surprised by the top-notch feel when controlling the vehicles with the pads motion rather than the sticks. We also got to grips with Resistance: Fall of Man too. The juryread more about:

I saw some shots of them playing with it on another site, the thing seems huge, and evidently weighs a ton, but the menus load quickly, and the load times for games are around psp length. hopefully sony doesn’t have another psp on their hands.

Well as exciting as some of the graphical capabilities on the PS3 are, I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the load times of Blu-Ray disks. First generation drives are usually slow — remember the first CD-ROM dirves? Add to that the fact that the large disc format of the Blu-ray drive may encourage larger file sizes.
