Leia Vs. Jabba the Hutt: Who Would Win in a Fight?

August 17th, 2010 by: Technabob

I think we all know the answer to that question. But if you’re looking for a constant reminder of Leia’s fantastic takedown of the big glob of goo, then look no further than this awesome desktop diorama.

This perfect likeness of  the sexy bikini-clad Leia strangling the life out of Jabba is available now as a handpainted polystone diorama. The 14.5″ (W) x 7.5″ (H) x 9″(D) sculpture is incredibly detailed, and if you squint real hard, you see that Leia is even strangling him with a tiny little chain.

Want one, head on over to Sideshow Collectibles, and whip out your credit card. Only 400 of this limited-edition collectible are being made, and they sell for $229.99 (USD).

It’ll look great on your desk next to your cute and cuddly Hello Kitty and Domokun collections.

Well… Lucas or whomever could make Leia kill Jabba with a rubber chicken if they wanted to… it’s their story after all, warts and all.

But, really, I’m suposed to suspend (no, murder) my disbelief to accept that a 100+ pound lady could garrote, without mechanical aid, and without Force use (at the time), a slimy, thick skinned (enough to stand several blaster shots), 12 foot, 2000+ pound creature like Jabba (according one of those official SW guides screenwriters never use). Try strangling a bull and see where that gets you.:) Just because it’s fantasy it doesn’t mean that it has to lower itself to campiness.

Then again, that doesn’t detract from the beauty of the diorama… silly, but very cool-looking.
