Phone x Phone Turns iPhone into a Crummy Old Desk Phone

by

Now I’m really not sure why you’d want to transform your svelte, modern iPhone into an ugly old handset, but that’s what the Phone x Phone is designed to do.

I spotted the Phone x Phone over at Korea’s Funshop, and it looks like the little device not only turns your iPhone into an old school desk phone, it functions as a dock for listening to your music or watching videos.

It’s available in several garish colors like pink, bright blue, and yellow. At least the white and black ones are almost palatable from an aesthetic perspective.

From what I can tell in the video below, the button on the back of the handset can be used for pausing, and switching between tracks on your iPhone – basically replicating the center click button on an iPhone headset cord.

Still, I don’t get why you’d need one of these. The least they could have done is include a rotary dial if they were going for a truly retro feel. I guess the good news is that you can only find these in Asia at the moment, so you don’t need to worry too much about it anyhow.
